Candiac is an organized hamlet in southeast Saskatchewan, at the intersection of Highways 48 and 617. It lies directly south of Wolseley and between Montmartre and Glenavon, about an hour's drive southeast of Regina. It is part of the Rural Municipality of Montmartre No. 126.
Settlers came to the area in the early 1900s from east-central Europe, mainly people of German, Polish and Ukrainian origin. A Polish settlement is known to have existed here as early as 1896, and it has been suggested that the earliest Ukrainian settlement in Canada was near the town. At one time Candiac had two schools that offered education up to grade 12.
Today the hamlet is surrounded by open fields and pasture, with some bush at its northern end, and people here make their living mainly from farming and ranching. The Polish Catholic church, built in 1913, still stands as the community's place of interest.
